Bois Durci Plaque, J.P. De Beranger
A French patented Bois Durci plaque from the 1860’s.
This interesting compound, considered the first plastic was made from, among other ingredients, blood and powdered wood shavings.
The plaque features French poet and musician J.P. De Beranger and is in good condition with a small bump tp the left side and a shallow chip and remnants of a paper label to the rear.
It is 110mm across excluding the brass hanger.
