Dutch Chocolate Pots

These lovely pewter chocolate pots are in the style typically made in Holland. One is dated 1795.  A collection of treen and pewter makes an interesting display on a dresser and while it takes single minded restraint, the result is often more eye-catching than the colourful ceramics that are more often collected.

Alabaster Spinario Figure

This well carved Victorian sculpture, circa 1890, is a copy of the roman bronze which was first documented in the 1160’s.  It depicts Spinario, the Shepard boy turned runner, who was so diligent in his delivery of a message to the senate from the provinces that he didn't stop to remove a thorn from his foot until after it had been delivered.  The figure is in perfect condition and is 25cm tall.

19thC Footstool

This footstool dates from the mid 19th century and is well constructed of figured rosewood.

When it came to me it was covered in some kind of worn out faux fur but it looks a treat now with this vintage strawberry damask covering and the original finish revived.

Mason's Jug and Basin

This jug and basin originates from England in the Victorian period and was made by the Mason's pottery from their famous “ironstone”. The decoration is oriental inspired and has been printed on using a hand applied transfer which has been picked out with hand painting.  The oriental theme expends to the "Hydra"  (snake) handle which curls around the neck of the jug.

The set is in great condition with no signs of the chips, cracks and other damage which is so often found on these items which were in daily use.
