SOLD – Original Oil German Shorthair Pointer
A charming portrait of a German Shorthair pointer by Austrian artist Joseph Buche (1848-1917).
It is in an important, earlier Dutch or Flemish ebonized ripple moulded frame (measures 810mm x 675mm).
To the rear, an note in old German has been affixed, explaining that the picture is of a hunting dog named fellow who saved the life of the commissioner and her husband.
The picture is in good, sound condition with typical yellowing to the over varnish.
