Sheffield Plate Meat Domes
A graduated pair of English 19th century Sheffield silver plate meat domes.
These domes are superior examples which have been fully hand made in the same way as early sterling. They have a large solid silver plate for an armorial crest ‘let in” but this has never been engraved. The interiors are hot tinned and the smaller dome has a hanging loop.
The largest dome is 360mm wide and 230mm tall. Both domes are in great condition with slight rosy glow from the base copper showing through in a couple of spots.
