Tartanware
These lovely turned Sycamore pieces, decorated with tartan, originate from the Scottish town of Mauchline. They date from the last quarter of the 19th century. These items are available in a range of difference shapes and tartans and a collection makes a striking display.

Australian Presentation Cufflinks
These cufflinks were made by the obscure Australian goldsmith J.M. Dempster who had his workshop in the Queen Victoria Markets, (Now the Queen Victoria Building) in George Street Sydney. They were presented, in 1906, by the congregation of Saint Mary’s Cathedral to the noted writer and lawyer J.T. Donovan.

Boulton-type Shoe Buckles
These shoe buckles date from the 1750’s and have the button release latches, which were particular to shoe buckles manufactured by Matthew Boulton in Birmingham. Matthew Boulton came form a long family of manufactures of buckles, buttons and other decorative and useful items. He championed workers rights in his factories and introduced the first known workers welfare scheme for his staff. In later life he revolutionized the world when he invented the steam engine.

1865 Pewter Tankard
This large, lidded pewter tankard with a glass bottom was made by James Dixon and retailed by Rowells of Oxford. It was awarded to the winners of the Exeter College scratch fours in 1865.
Great condition, lovely patina to the pewter.

Bespoke Leather Boots
These leather boots date from the late Victorian period and years of tender loving care has served them well as they are in remarkable condition. They retain the original beech stretchers.
These boots were very expensive to have made in the day and today they are just the thing to all an air of "distinguished gentleman" to your decor.

Majolica Match-striker
This pottery match striker with majolica glaze was made in England and would have once stool on the bar filled with wax matches.
It dates from the 1890’s and stands just over 8cm tall.

Scottish Horn Quaich
This Scottish horn and silver Quaich dates from 1840. These ceremonial drinking cups original from the Scottish Highlands and were based on early turned and staved wooden bleeding bowls from Holland and the low countries.

19thC Black Forest Pipe Stand
Unfortunately my picture does not do justice to this wonderful 1880's carved bear pipe stand. This example is quite large and well carved. It has hooks for a half dozen pipes around the wood basket mixing bowl.

Gents Rolex Tudor Wristwatch
This early 1960's Tudor Oyster is super original and in great condition.
As watch collectors will know Tudor watches were conceived by Hans Wilsdorf in 1946 as a "younger brother" to his already hugely popular Rolex watches. While the movements are not exactly the same in the Tudor and Rolex many of the case components are the same or very similar. This one has the original stainless steel Rolex screw back oyster case and the patent Rolex screw down winder.
This watch is in perfect working order with a new Hirsch leather band.
